My 14 year old son pointed something interesting out today when he was disgusted by the latest Nicki Minaj song called Stupid Hoe, and that was the negative influence music is having on our culture right now.
He is someone who buys and appreciates songs from the 1920’s up, and is a music history buff. He did a little research and saw how the words have changed, and how that is impacting us as a society. If we continue to support music that degrades society, we will end up deserving what we get. Please support music that creates the type of world you would like to live in.
Music lyrics through the ages,
30’s- I want something to live for, someone to make my life an adventurous dream.
40’s- you have to accentuate the positive, get out the negative
50’s- let’s go little darling, and we can always be together
60’s- I’d be safe and warm if I was in LA
70’s- say we’ll be together everyday
80’s- shying away, i’ll be coming for your love anyway
90’s- you better flee pops, or get your head thrown three blocks
2000’s- Ice my wrist’s and I piss on bitches. You can suck my diz-nik, if you take this jizz-ez

And start to buy and support music with lyrics that uplift, encourage, or bring attention to issues that matter.
We can no longer blame the last generation, this generation, or the next generation – let’s take responsibility and play our part right now in what is happening.
I’m not talking censorship – everyone has a right to say whatever they want – but that doesn’t mean we have to buy it – believe it – or listen to it.
Take 1 day – every day – to support or encourage the right message this planet needs.
